I sent in my resignation from the LDS Church 2 months ago, and today I received confirmation that it will be effective September 26 of this year. I had been inactive for almost 5 years, but after I learned about the LDS Church's involvement in Prop 8, I decided to formally resign and I referenced Prop 8. Bravo to this guy though, he's got some balls.

Things never change: a thinking person confronts the darkness that is the church only to be cast out as a heretic (see Galileo, Copernicus, et al). Perhaps the most telling aspect of this is the church supposedly worships and follows literally the MOST POWERFUL BEING IN THE UNIVERSE, yet cowers in fear when someone simply speaks words about a situation or policy. The church is truly an institution of darkness, ignorance and fear. All we as thinking people have to do is continually look back at the Dark Ages, The Inquisition, The Crusades to remind ourselves how deadly, dark and cancerous the mind of the church was and is. And, it's not by any means a benign tumor. No, it sends its tendrils out to infect the minds of anyone who'll listen. For instance, we are to a great extent in the Iraq War because of Bush's ludicrous and horrific belief that God speaks to him. Think about that for moment. The most powerful office in the world was occupied by a loon who said an invisible man in the sky spoke to him, and that was gleefully welcomed by over 1/2 of this country. Religion is a mental illness. Until we treat it as such, we will continue to be ruled by psychopaths who claim to get messages from the Ruler of the Universe. We will continue to elect deeply hypocritical misanthropes who profess to be "family values" candidates, then are routinely busted in extramarital affairs, homosexual liaisons, and other grotesque betrayals of family and country. The church has a rap sheet as long as the Pope's robes. Wake up, people. Think for yourselves. Leave the church and start electing more agnostics and atheists.

I've not been a member of the LDS church for some time now. Something is not quite right about all of this. I've never once been to a service that was videotaped. This has set-up written all over it. The man would have been at the pulpit to because he was called to speak on something and he chose not to speak on the topic that he was called to speak on and rather chose to speak about his own opinions. You just don't do that in a service. The man (while being calm and so forth) was asked to stop or something similar by his bishop, and when he didn't yeah they cut his mic. I'd compare him to the latest Kayne West Episode ... there are certain things you don't do, this man KNEW this was not the place for this yet did it anyways and he was cut off for it.

This "faithful" latter-day saint was given more than ample opportunity to spill hollywood immoral retoric before he was asked by a JUDGE IN ISRAEL whom he sustained as such
to sit down; he did not. He had to be asked twice. If Jesus were here he would do the same thing as this bishop. The next time you write on The HOUSE OF THE LORD, the Los Angeles Temple, you pathetic cry baby activist - and you know who you are - just remember a JUDGE IN ISRAEL was confronted in a building dedicated and set apart for
members of Christ church and to all those who wish to learn more about the Restored Church of Jesus Christ. How contentious - "Contention is not of me, but is of the Devil,
who is the Father of Contention, and he stirreth up the hearts of men to contend one with another". This Brother did such and I am disappointed in his behavior and his
choice to do such iniquity and act of persecution.
Search your hearts and minds. Pray to ask God what is right: You people voting no on Prop 8: Where did your mother, father, grandmother, grandfather lose your attention in this moral issue??? Where did you falter??? Oh Repent and come unto Christ and deny yourselves of All ungodliness. Love God and Love your neighbor,
do good to them which use you and persecute you. Pray for them. Don't take their signs away! Don't Write Mean and Threatening words on their livelihood!!
Be nice and let people make their own CHOICE: As they did last November and as the California Supreme court DUTIFULLY UPHELD.
All people of all credes, cultures, religions, and dynamics who actually have Christlike attributes Know this to be a true principle: Homosexuality is an Abomination in the sight of God.

To all the nutjobs screeching like howler monkeys about god and abomination:

You are not Him. You are not supreme Judge. Want to cast the first stone? You better be a saint.

What people do with their own lives affects you NOT AT ALL. Keeping equal rights from people engaged in adult, consensual and loving relationships that result in no pain, trauma or unwanted children, all because of YOUR beliefs, is tyranny.

Concentrate on living as Christ urges you to: with love and understanding. Nobody is hurting you.
